However, with the evolution of the market, more automotive energy began to consider LNG and CNG as raw materials. The main components of these two raw materials are the same,both are natural gas.
LNG【liquefied naturalgas】: We are usually called liquefied natural gas.
CNG [Compressed NaturalGas]: We are usually called compressed natural gas.
So what is the difference between these two type of trucks?
First, CNG is high-pressure storage, and LNG is low-temperature storage.
Secondly, the capacity of LNG storage tank is much larger than that of CNG storage tank. The effective volume of the tank is mostly 800-1000 liters, and the largest can reach 3000-5000 liters. It is used very frequently on heavy trucks. The tanks are generally stored on both sides of the chassis and the rear of the cabin.
Third, they are also different in terms of safety precautions. For CNG trucks, we need to pay attention to accidents such as explosions and fires caused by corrosion of cylinders and damage. For LNG trucks, attention should be paid to prevent accidents such as explosions and fires of the storage tank caused by rear-end collisions, and to prevent the gas storage tank pressure from exceeding the safety valve caused by excessive parking time and natural gas venting.
Should we choose LNG trucks or CNG trucks? We should still choose from the actual working environment. Compared with CNG trucks, LNG trucks have higher natural gas density in storage tanks and long cruising range. They are suitable for long-distance with sufficient gas sources, while CNG trucks generally have a cruising range that about 200-500 kilometers, it is more used in short- and medium-distance transportation scenarios.
