The function of intercooler is to make the air passing through the supercharger enter the cooling process first, and maintain the stable temperature and pressure of the supercharged air entering the cylinder for combustion. Most of them are installed in front of the radiator of the water tank, and the appearance and structure also have a lot in common with the water tank.
The long-life normal operation of the engine requires an absolutely clean intake system, but the air in the intake system can not meet the standard due to various factors. For example, the internal part of the intercooler becomes dirty or even blocked due to oil leakage of the supercharger, failure of the air filter, rupture of the air inlet pipeline and other reasons. It seriously affects the engine power and the fuel consumption increases rapidly, which is not alarmist. The following case may remind you.
In the above figure, because the driver suddenly found that the fuel consumption began to increase in recent months, he checked all parts of the engine one by one, focused on the air intake system, and preliminarily determined that the intercooler may be blocked through professional equipment. Take it down and start cleaning. Pour out a lot of things, a flocculent mixture similar to cotton wadding. Through these impurities, it is preliminarily determined that the intercooler is basically of no repair value.
After disassembling the intercooler, a large number of impurities were exposed. So what is the social reason for the intercooler blockage? The owner’s tractor mainly transports wind power equipment. In the early stage, it went to pastoral areas and plateaus. There were a lot of willow catkins and poplar catkins. There were also times when the air inlet pipeline was not tightly sealed, which may not be noticed.
Check the air inlet pipeline and supercharger again. It is found that there are oil stains on the wall of the air inlet pipe, the supercharger moves axially and the impeller is damaged. Finally, the cause of the fault fully emerged. After replacing the supercharger and intercooler, cleaning the pipeline, troubleshooting thoroughly, and driving test, the fuel consumption and power returned to normal.

Answer: the oil channeling of supercharger is often caused by human factors, such as:
① The quality of engine oil is poor, the oil change cycle is too long, and the engine oil is not treated in time after entering diesel oil.
② Due to driving habits, starting the throttle in winter and stopping the engine quickly will cause poor lubrication of the supercharger, dry grinding and finally scrapping.
③ The supercharger bypass valve works poorly and the pressure relief action cannot be completed in time, resulting in supercharging overload, overheating, high temperature and wear of the supercharger body. Intercooler pressurization overload, rupture and failure.
Answer: if the intercooler is slightly polluted by engine oil and dust, you can fill it with an appropriate amount of gasoline. After it is fully dissolved, wash it with clean water repeatedly and dry it. It is not recommended to wash it with acidic or alkaline liquid. In the second type, if a large area is blocked due to the rupture of inferior filter and pipeline, it is basically of no repair value. The intercooler is basically a high-strength aluminum component, which is easy to rupture again even if it is welded after disassembly. It is recommended to replace the intercooler.
