When the pressure plate and flywheel (Howell truck parts) are bolted to the engine, the clutch is engaged. At this point, the spring plate on the clutch cover presses the press plate and the flywheel tightly against the clutch plate between them. When the clutch cover assembly and the flywheel are rotating, the driven disc assembly and the drive shaft are driven by the friction torque on the friction plate on the driven disc assembly.

Phenomena: Clutch disc wear or ablation.

Possible cause: excessive wear of clutch plates due to frequent use of half coupling operation.

Maintenance method: pay attention to the use habit under the standard load condition.

Fault phenomenon: the surface of the clutch is burnt or the surface of the pressure plate is blue.

Possible cause: in severe overspeed and heavy load cases, the clutch is frequently used or often in a semi-coupled state.

Fault phenomenon: clutch pedal free travel is too small.

Possible cause: Diaphragm spring separates the preexcited force on the spring.

Inspection method: adjust the pedal free distance, separate the clearance between the bearing and the diaphragm. Fault phenomenon: the clutch assembly friction contact surface there is oil. Possible cause: oil seal failure of transmission input shaft, oil leakage. Inspection method: replace the transmission oil seal. Startup jitter

Possible cause: uneven surface of pressure plate or flywheel.

Inspection method: Check and replace the damaged parts.

Possible reasons: pressure plate separation refers to uneven force, bias and softness.

Inspection method: check the press plate or separation bearing, if there is any damage, replace. 

Possible cause: clutch pedal is not fully back in position.

Inspection method: check the clutch pedal mechanism to see if there is any fault.

Possible cause: Diaphragm rupture.

Inspection method: replace the pressure plate.

Possible cause: Second gear start, operation is not normal. Maintenance method: pay attention to the operation habit.
