I believe we all know that the high fuel consumption of excavator flat transporter is related to carbon deposition in spark plug, dirty gasoline filter, damaged oxygen sensor, tire pressure and blocked fuel injection nozzle.
Flat Transport Vehicle Of Flatbed Transporter
However, some friends found that the fuel consumption of their car was higher than before, and the power also decreased. Not long ago, they maintained the car once, and always used genuine filter elements to refuel at regular gas stations of flatbed transporter .
Therefore, he has been puzzled why there is a sharp increase in fuel consumption. He suggested that he should check it to see what causes the abnormal fuel consumption? Let’s understand:
The driver of the excavator flatbed truck opened the excavator at the local after-sales service center and asked the staff to check the connection with the vehicle with the diagnostic instrument. It was found that the fuel injector valve assembly was slightly worn. Only this little wear would lead to abnormal fuel consumption of the vehicle of flatbed transporter.
But the driver’s friend wondered why the fuel injector was worn out when the car had been using genuine filter elements? After asking, the staff found that the fuel tank of the driver’s friend had been refitted and heated, and the refitting factory had cut the fuel tank when installing the heater. It should be that the aluminum foam during modification was not cleaned, and the aluminum foam entered the fuel system with the fuel.
Although it is a genuine filter element, the filter element can only filter out aluminum foam greater than 4 microns, and those less than 4 microns still enter the injector, resulting in the wear of the valve components of the injector, resulting in high fuel consumption and insufficient power. It turns out that aluminum foam is the fundamental cause of injector damage of flatbed transporter.
In fact, there are many cases where aluminum foam leads to fuel injector damage and eventually leads to a sharp increase in fuel consumption. There are two reasons. One is that, like the above driver friends, the fuel tank of the refitted flat transport vehicle is heated. The aluminum foam generated by cutting the fuel tank during refitting is not cleaned up, and the aluminum foam enters the fuel, resulting in damage to the fuel injector.
The other is that the partition plate inside the fuel tank of the flat transport vehicle is welded, and the partition plate is loose. When the vehicle is walking, the diesel hits the partition plate, and the partition plate rubs with the fuel tank to produce aluminum foam, which enters the fuel system with the fuel.
Therefore, for drivers who have not modified the fuel tank, when you find that the fuel consumption increases suddenly after the maintenance related to the fuel consumption of the vehicle has been done, you should consider the second case above. The vehicle should be carefully inspected. If the diaphragm is welded, the diaphragm should be welded firmly as soon as possible, and then replace the new filter element, so as to avoid high fuel consumption, It can also avoid other major losses.
