The EPC light is the fault indicator light of the engine electronic control system. When the electronic control unit ECU detects a fault during operation, the electronic control unit ECU will turn on the EPC light to inform the driver that the engine electronic control system has a problem and needs to be repaired. There are two ways to read fault information, one is flash code reading, and the other is scan tool reading.
At present, Xichai IV uses two fuel systems: Denso and Bosch. The flash code reading methods of the two systems are different. The flash code reading methods of the two fuel systems will be introduced below.
1. When the diagnostic request switch is disconnected, turn the ignition switch from “off” to “on” and do not start the engine. At this time, the fault light of the instrument panel should be on.
2. Close the diagnosis request switch. If there is no fault, the fault light will flash all the time. If there is a fault, the fault light will display the fault in the form of flashing code. The fault will be displayed circularly until the first fault flash code appears again, indicating that all faults are displayed. The engine is not allowed to start until the fault mode is confirmed.
3. According to the fault reason corresponding to the flashing code, take the method of inspection and maintenance of the fault parts or replace relevant parts for troubleshooting.
4. After troubleshooting, turn the ignition switch from “off” to “on” and close the fault diagnosis switch. If the fault light flashes all the time, the fault indicator goes out after starting the engine. Confirm that there is no fault before delivery.
5. How to read the fault flash code corresponding to the fault indicator lamp:
It is indicated by the flashing times of EPC lamp. For example, 55, the fault lamp flashes five times continuously first, and then five times continuously every 1 second, indicating that the flashing code is 55.
1. When the diagnostic request switch is disconnected, turn the ignition switch from “off” to “on” and do not start the engine. At this time, the fault indicator light of the instrument panel should be on. If there is no fault, the fault indicator will turn off after 3 seconds. If there is a fault, the fault indicator will always turn on.
2. If there is a fault, the fault indicator will always be on. At this time, turn on and off the fault request switch, the fault indicator will display the fault in the form of flash code, and the fault will be displayed repeatedly until the first fault flash code appears again, indicating that all faults are displayed, and the engine is not allowed to start before the fault mode is confirmed.
3. According to the fault reason corresponding to the flashing code, the relevant parts shall be replaced or the fault parts shall be inspected and repaired for troubleshooting.
4. After troubleshooting, turn the ignition switch from “off” to “on”. If the fault indicator lights up for 3 seconds and then goes out, confirm that there is no fault, and then deliver it for use.
Note: when Bosch system outputs flash code, the fault indicator light and OBD mil light will flash at the same time, and the output flash code is the same flash code. This design is redundant. When one of the lights is broken, the flash code fault output can still be carried out.
How to read the fault flash code corresponding to the fault indicator lamp:
It is expressed by the flashing times of the fault lamp, such as 553. The fault lamp flashes five times continuously, then five times continuously every 1 second, and then three times continuously every 1 second, indicating that the flashing code is 553.
When the relevant circuits and oil circuits of the electronic control system of Guosi engine fail, the EPC fault light will generally be on. During on-site inspection and maintenance, different repair steps need to be made according to the engine fault mode.
According to the read fault information, check the relevant components that will cause the EPC lamp to turn on. If the fault lamp is always on, it is generally a circuit fault, and if it is on after the vehicle is running or started, it is generally an oil circuit fault.
