  • Wrong operation 1: engines suddenly stops at full load
  • When the engines is working at full load, the instantaneous temperature in the engine cylinder can reach 1700 ℃. If the engine suddenly stops and the water pump stops working at this time, the heat of the engine body will accumulate, and each cylinder is in the expansion stroke, the temperature in the cylinder can reach more than 700 ℃. 
  • If the exhaust gas in the cylinder cannot be eliminated, the piston of the cylinder is prone to local burning, At the same time, the bearing of the booster will be burned. If the engine is started again to work at full load, the piston of the cylinder will be seriously burned.

  • In daily use, the sudden shutdown of the engines during full load operation should be avoided.   • Many drivers have misunderstandings in the use of engine oil. For example, some northeast kayou still use engines oil with viscosity grade of 20W-50 in winter. The fluidity of this viscosity grade of engine oil is very poor in low temperature environment. At this time, if the engine is started, the engine oil can not provide high lubrication. If the vehicle works at full load after starting, it is easy to lead to engine cylinder pulling.

The engine requires CH-4 oil, while the user uses CF-4 or even lower oil, which will lead to poor lubrication of the engine, accelerate the wear of the cylinder, increase the exhaust gas pressure of the crankcase, increase the engine oil and carbon deposition in the combustion chamber, and finally lead to piston cylinder pulling or top burning.

    During vehicle maintenance, it should be noted that the oil with appropriate viscosity should be selected according to the temperature of the current season. For example, users in Northeast China can use 15w-40 oil in summer and 10W-30 oil in winter. The oil with this viscosity has good low-temperature fluidity and can provide a good lubrication condition for the engines.

  • Part of the incomplete combustion products will be mixed into the engine oil of the cylinder wall, and the groove wall will be blocked by the accumulation of piston rings. The accumulation to a certain extent will cause the piston rings to jam, damage the seal of the combustion chamber and lead to gas leakage. The leaked high-temperature gas may burn the lubricating oil film on the cylinder wall, making the lubrication condition of the piston worse, which will greatly increase the risk of cylinder pulling and piston top burning.
  • In addition, poor quality diesel will contain a lot of impurities and moisture, which will accelerate the wear of the fuel injector during injection, and the inaccurate injection accuracy will appear after the wear of the fuel injector. It is understood that the maximum injection quantity can be increased by 30% after the wear of the fuel injector. With the increase of the injection quantity, the pressure in the cylinder becomes larger during diesel combustion, which exceeds the design margin of the piston and cylinder barrel, and it is easy to cause piston top burning and cylinder pulling faults.

  • Poor quality diesel oil will cause the internal valve assembly of the injector to fail to work normally. If the valve assembly is stuck and the valve assembly is not closed tightly, the injector will have oil dripping, secondary injection, poor atomization and other conditions. When the local temperature at the oil accumulation on the piston top is too high, the thermal stress increases, resulting in the ablation of the piston. Poor atomization and oil dripping of the fuel injection nozzle will also lead to black smoke when the diesel engine is working.

    In daily driving, high-quality diesel oil from regular gas stations shall be installed to avoid filling inferior diesel oil. At the same time, it is also necessary to replace the diesel filter element regularly. When purchasing the filter element, we must buy the genuine filter element, and drain water regularly to make the engine “drink” clean diesel. If the injector is unfortunately caught, you need to go to a regular repair unit for professional maintenance.

  • Piston quality problem
    If the engine piston has defects such as pores, looseness, microcracks and slag inclusion during casting, these defects will become the fatigue source of the piston and damage the piston under the high temperature of the engines. The slag inclusion in the piston will melt first, causing the piston to burn.

  •  Blocked oil cooling nozzle
    The oil cooling nozzle on the engine body injects oil into the piston cavity to cool the piston under normal conditions. Once the oil cooling nozzle of a cylinder is blocked, the piston of this cylinder will accumulate heat and rise in temperature, which is more likely to lead to piston top burning or even cylinder pulling.

    If the cylinder is pulled or the piston is burnt, the oil cooling nozzle of the cylinder must be blocked or damaged after other reasons are eliminated. Need to go to the repair shop to replace the oil cooling nozzle, and also use special tools to correct the oil cooling nozzle.
  • Most of the reasons for the blockage of the engine oil cooling nozzle are the poor quality of the engines oil or the impurities contained therein, so the engine oil with good quality should be used during maintenance. At the same time, the genuine engine oil filter element should be replaced to filter out the impurities in the engine oil to prevent the engine oil cooling nozzle from being blocked or damaged.
