Problems encountered in practical use
However, in order to meet the greater mileage, the truck fuel tank is also getting bigger and bigger! We often say that everything has two sides. The aluminum alloy fuel tank is beautiful and lightweight, which can hold more fuel. However, due to the fluidity of the liquid, the fuel will impact the “diaphragm” in the fuel tank during driving, which will cause the “open welding” of the diaphragm over time. The diaphragm will rub with the aluminum plate around the fuel tank to produce “aluminum dust”, which will not be blocked by our diesel filter element, It will enter the fuel injector along with the oil circuit, resulting in stuck fuel injector, increased fuel return, boring vehicle and fuel consumption…
So when we maintain the vehicle, we must pay attention to whether there is aluminum dust in the diesel filter cup, use it to judge whether the fuel tank diaphragm is damaged, repair or replace the fuel tank as soon as possible, so as to avoid greater economic losses.
This is one of my cars. When I was maintaining, I replaced the diesel filter cup and put out the aluminum powder. I found the oil tank partition and opened the welding, which led to its friction in the oil tank and the formation of aluminum powder! I immediately talked to the driver and learned that there was nothing wrong with the car recently. The accelerator pedal responded positively to refueling. There was no black smoke in the exhaust pipe and no “fire, Red Star”. The hanging heart is a little lower, which shows that the fuel injector has no big problem and can avoid spending a lot of money!
The simplest and direct way is to find a repairman who can weld the oil tank, cut the oil tank from the side, and then thoroughly clean the aluminum powder in the oil tank, then weld, replace the oil pipe and diesel filter element, check whether the filter screen at the oil pump also has aluminum powder, if so, clean and replace it together, and strive to solve the problem at one time.
instead of welding at a high price, it’s better to have a big one
Clarify the goal and implement it immediately. The asking price of welding oil tank is 600 yuan, and there is no bargaining. Because aluminum alloy welding is a cold door, besides, there are too few people who dare to do the oil tank, which has caused the embarrassment of “asking too much”. My oil tank is 600 liters, and the route is from Chengdu to Hangzhou. There is no cheap oil at both ends. Only the oil in Xiangyang, Hubei Province is cheap. Diesel filter I used to complain that the oil tank is too small and I can’t add cheap oil on the road Diesel filter. Now I take advantage of this “opportunity” to directly change to an 800 liter large oil tank, which is both beautiful. Although the initial investment is a little large, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in the long run.
Buy three fuel tank brackets and say hello to auto parts. They are divided into three “straps”, long, medium and short. If you want to buy special screws, you can directly replace the “riser” with an 800 liter one without losing money, diesel filter or connect the “riser” of the original 600 without delaying use.
The installation of fuel tank is not wordy here. I mainly want to share the maintenance cases with you, so that you can check whether there is “aluminum dust” in our diesel filter element during daily maintenance, so as to avoid this risk in advance.
Finally, we have to blow the oil pipe with high-pressure air and remove the oil inlet screw at the low-pressure end of the oil pump,diesel filter because there is the “last” filter screen of our vehicle.
